Final Soccer Clinic

Tonight was Wyatt's final soccer clinic! We actually made it to all of them and on time after the first one! The final clinic was a "game" of soccer. You could tell that all the parents were very excited for this game because it was going to be comical. They did exactly what you thought they would, everyone chased the ball, everyone tried kicking the ball, kids picked up the ball, and just pretty much mass chaos of the 3 and 4 year kind!

Pine Cone Bird Feeders

Wyatt and I were over at the dentist's office down the alley from our house and I was watching him scooter and playing tag when we discovered that there were some pine cones on the ground. Wyatt kept picking them up and wanted to take them home. When we got home I decided we should make some bird feeders out of them and do a little craft project. We got out the peanut butter and bird seed and headed back out. He had a blast making them and was super excited to give them to the birds. We stuck them around the yard where the birds usually hang out and hopefully they will find them. We will check them tomorrow to see how they are doing! :) Sorry the pictures are in no particular order. Having a hard time moving them around!

I love this picture because you can see how hard he was concentrating to get the peanut butter spread on it!
So proud of himself!

Soccer Clinic

We decided to sign Wyatt up for a soccer clinic in Wamego this month. It's geared for 3 and 4 year olds and works mainly on just being away from your parent and listening to other people besides your parents. The first clinic was tonight and guess who forgot it was tonight, ME! I realized he had the clinic at about 6:57 and it started at 7:00. Oops! We got there and all was well. He hadn't missed anything and we were only a couple of minutes late. Good thing Wamego is a small town and it doesn't take us very long to get anywhere. He was hesitant at first and threw a fit because he didn't know any of the other kids there and told me he didn't want to make any new friends. But after a couple of minutes and once they got the soccer balls out he was ready to go. He loved the clinic and is so excited to go back. Here a few pics I took with my phone. Hopefully next week I can get some better ones with my camera.

Labor Day

We concluded our Summer with a camping trip to Melvern Lake with Mike's family. This was the first time we had been camping since he was 1, gotten double ear infections and began the long journey to tubes. Camping this time around was so different and so much better than when he was 1. He could run around play with the other kids and actually liked the sand at the beach! My dad came up to visit for a couple of hours on Sunday and Wyatt loved that there was someone else there just to pay attention to him. They shared a Lunchable for lunch and then we headed out on our boat. We had been talking about Wyatt going on the boat but knew it could be iffy. He hates it when Mike starts the boat up at home and says it's too loud. We got the boat loaded and Wyatt and I were waiting on the boat for Mike to park the trailer when he just started freaking out!! He was crying uncontrollably and wouldn't let go of my leg. We pushed off and started cruising the lake when we realized that he had fallen asleep. The kid literally went from screaming his head off to asleep in a span of 3 minutes! We stopped put the Bimini top up to keep the sun off him and let him sleep for a little bit. Once he woke up we started cruising again and he LOVED it! He was king of the lake. He enjoyed it so much even got into the water with us when we stopped the boat to go swimming. We were on the lake for 3 hours and decided that was enough for everyone and headed back to take a rest. That night we took my father-in-law, niece, and sister-in-law out with us and Wyatt had a blast with them. He was acting like we boat all the time. We are definitely going to take the boat out more often next summer since he loved it so much!
