We, of course, have a hamster so we, of course, have a hamster ball! Nothing says fun like watching a hamster run around in a ball and hit stuff. Now we had to tell Wyatt that he couldn't kick the ball or throw the ball because even though it was a ball there was a hamster in it! He did pretty good until we got done with this photo and he threw the ball onto the floor and sent it rolling across the room. Poor Elephant! He's still alive, no worries!

Mantis
Yesterday Mike found a praying mantis in the garden and brought it in for Wyatt to keep in his creature keeper for a day....or two. We finally decided to let him go this afternoon and we decided to put him back in the garden, where he came from. We didn't know how Wyatt would react to letting him go but he was actually excited to let it go and put it back in the garden.
Taking Mantis outside to be released.
He was really big.
Just a little more torture before you are completely free. I'll shake the plant you're on!

Week Recap
Well this was another jam-packed week like usual but it seemed to only be compounded by the fact that Wyatt was getting sicker by the day. Wednesday and Thursday were Parent/Teacher Conferences for our school district which meant late nights and no seeing him before he went to bed. Of course on Wednesday I got a call from his school saying that I needed to pick him up because he was sick and had a fever. (Side note: Wyatt has been on Claritan since January and so far no ear infections since starting it.) So I left school with two hours left and picked him up and stayed with him until Mike's dad could come over and watch him until Mike got home. Once Joe came over I sped back to school for my 7 conferences.
Thursday morning came and I took Wyatt to Grandma Audry's for the day because I just didn't want to chance taking him to daycare and then getting a call later on and being stuck with what to do and how to do it in very little time. After a long day of conferences I headed home to Mike and Wyatt and found out that he wasn't getting much better. We thought it was his teeth because he has 3 more teeth breaking through, bringing our count up to 16 teeth, but since it is now the weekend and is still in a very crabby and uncooperative mood I'm going to say that he is officially sick. With what, I don't know but it's not just teeth.
My mom came over on Saturday and spent the night with us and saw Wyatt at his worst. He wouldn't eat anything, crabby, and super tired. Whatever is going on I hope he gets over it before Tuesday because Mike is heading out of town for the week!! Oi!!
Today we spent a majority, 4 hours, outside playing in the wonderful sun and the hurricane-like winds. The winds tamed down this afternoon and we headed to the backyard and got some yard work done. I started cleaning all the dried yucky leaves from around the house and raking the yard. Mike pulled up the garden from last year and burned some brush. Wyatt did great playing in the backyard with Powder running around like an idiot. He helped me scoop leaves and even swept off the slab for me when I was done. He also really enjoyed discovering Powder's dog run and house. In fact he spent more time in her house than she did. We didn't get everything done but we got a good start. Maybe if the weather is nice we can work on it some more later this week.

A gorgeous day in February!
Today was an absolutely gorgeous day in February. It was 60 degrees today and the snow was melting like crazy. We spent over an hour outside and took several walks around the block and much to Wyatt's delight splashed in the small lake that was in our driveway. At first he was unsure about the whole puddle thing because it was cold but once he realized that I didn't care he was running in it. He wore only a jacket and his stocking hat and it was perfect. I tried taking the hat off of him because I thought he was getting hot but he wanted it back on ASAP.
Loving the nice weather and actually giving me a smile!
He looks so funny with the cheese on his lip. He kept trying to get it off but didn't want to drop it.
This is all the further that Garfield would go. I made him go outside and then he came back in when we got the cheese sticks. This is all he wanted to do. Such a lazy cat to sit inside and watch us play outside!
Hey You!
Why are my pants wet?
Still going in even though it's cold.
I think he liked being able to see his reflection in the water.

Best Friends just got closer!
A new revelation for Wyatt is that everyone has a nose! He has been pointing out his own nose for several months now but it is just this January that he realized that more than people have noses and people in pictures have noses! Shock, I know!! He will get out his coloring book and go through all the pictures and point to the dogs, elves, kids, snowman's noses. He has also realized that animals have noses. His favorite animal nose to touch is Garfields, of course. Since Wyatt has realized that him and G-Field are such good buds he's taken to sitting even closer to him now.
He was crouched down walking over Garfield and then just decided to sit on him. And as you can tell the cat was very concerned! ;)
Here Wyatt is giving Garfield an ear massage. Such a good friend.

Best Buds
Wyatt has a best bud and his name is Garfield! They spend a lot of time together. I'm sure not always to Garfield's delight. This past weekend Wyatt found a new hobby and it incorporated his two loves; cars and Garfield.
Stacking cars on a sleeping Garfield until he rolled over and they fell off!
That looks like a good idea. We should both take a nap! :)
