The Best Way to End August...

with the Cleaning Fairy!!! I had always heard about this mythical creatures that come to your home and dust and clean and here's the kicker: THEY LIKE IT!! I had never seen one until today and I had to capture a picture of one while it was working, so that everyone knows that they do exist! Hope your cleaning fairy visits you soon. :)
The only issue is that this Cleaning Fairy isn't quite 3-feet tall!
And sometimes he uses the cleaning utensils upside-down!

Miss Me?

I know it's been a long time since my last post but as you can tell that means that school has started!! We have been through our first week of school and everyone has survived meaning; myself, Mike and Wyatt. There seems to be a trend starting and that is me not getting to Wamego to get Wyatt until after 5pm and then rushing home to try to whip something together while entertaining a screaming child and doing five million other tasks at the same time. Mike is home to help but between us we still have so much to do either inside the house or out.
We spent this weekend getting everything ready for our Labor Day trip to Melvern Lake. We spent plenty of  money and time at Wal-Mart getting final groceries and items bought. We then spent the remainder of the weekend digging out all of our camping stuff and making sure everything either works or is there. We unfortunately opened one of our Camping Totes to find mildew all over everything!! Gotta love a wet basement for storing things. So after a run through the dishwasher and washing machine everything is back to where is belongs and needs to be.
This week will be the final preparations for camping: packing, packing, and more packing!! Mike will be going to the lake on Friday to set everything up and then we'll follow the next morning.  So you probably won't be seeing any new posts from me this week but stay tuned for next week when we should have some great camping pics of Wyatt and everyone enjoying the boat!! :)
Here are some great pics of Wyatt at bathtime last week!!

Boo Boo

Well we have our first official boo boo!! Friday morning as I was sitting in my never-ending meetings for school my phone lit up and not to my delight it was the number to the daycare!! Uh oh!! As I bee-lined out of the meeting with my phone I answered to Wyatt's teacher, Ms. Amber, as she goes on to tell me about his new boo boo. He was walking around the room and tripped over a block. (Nothing new, as he does this a lot!) Well he fell and skinned his top lip. It bled but they put a cold wash cloth on it and it had stopped bleeding by the time she had called me. He was okay and acting just fine so there was no need to get him but his lip would be puffy and sore for a couple of days. I texted Mike to let him know the information as he was the one picking up Wyatt from daycare that day. When I got home I was surprised to see how active he was and how much his lip wasn't bothering him. He's been doing so great with it! Everytime I see him smiling at me with his puffy, skinned lip it makes me think that we survived another boo boo!! :)

Evening Snack

Since Wyatt only gained 2 ounces in three months, Dr. Rose suggested that we start giving him an evening snack. So last night we gave Wyatt a small bowl of Cheerios to snack on before he went to bed. He looked so funny lounging on his couch eating his snack and watching t.v.!

 Enjoying the Cheerios!

It was so funny because the Cheerios had fallen out of the bowl and were laying across his stomach. It reminded me of when I was pregnant with him and would rest my bowl on my tummy! ;)
 Mmmmm, this is so good!!

15-Month Check-Up

Today was Wyatt's 15-month check up with Dr. Rose and everything went great!! Wyatt's stats are: 19.6lbs.=1% and 31.25in=58%. So he is still long and lean. Dr. Rose isn't worried and neither are we. He's just going to be like his Momma and Daddy. Neither one of us were big kids and up until middle school probably the shortest kids in our classes. So he's following in our footsteps. He also had to get 3 shots but took them like a champ and didn't put up too much of a fuss. Our next appointment isn't until November, so we'll see if we can't get some more weight on him.
On a developmental note, Wyatt is moving right along and surprises us everyday with something new he can do. He now says: Dada, dog, hi, yeah, and something that resembles kitty. We are working on saying "bye" instead of "hi" for when people are leaving. He also waves to everyone that leaves and gets into a car. He also likes to wave at cars as they drive by. He really likes reading book, too. In fact, most evenings he sits and reads his books. Wyatt also really likes to drive his dump truck around the house and load it up and then move the load to another place. It's getting really nice because if he wants to play with something he can bring it over to us and then we know what he wants to play with we can play with him then. :) I'm really liking that, as opposed to guessing what he might want to play with only to find out that's not what he wanted.

Teeth Brushing Fool

Wyatt absolutely LOVES to brush his teeth. We have our routine every morning that after breakfast we go into the bathroom and brush our teeth. He gets to sit on the counter and put his feet in the sink. Then we get out his toothpaste and he gets to hold it while I put his toothbrush under the water. Then we put a drop of toothpaste on the toothbrush and he lets me brush his teeth. When I'm done brushing his teeth he gets to brush them. He does a great job of moving the toothbrush back and forth in his mouth. Of course, he likes to suck on it but doesn't just do that. Today was by far the greatest day of toothbrushing! He turned and looked in the mirror while he was brushing and went super brushing on his teeth. He was smiling the whole time and looked like a proud little boy! I was a very proud Momma! :)

Why is the floor wet?

That's the question I asked as I stepped onto the floor below our stairs. It turns out the floor was wet and it was pee that I stepped in. Here's the back story.
Wyatt and I ventured out in the 100-degree heat to go swimming at the Wamego Pool. When we got back home I took his swim diaper off and was letting him run around the house naked while I was putting everything away. I went upstairs to get a diaper for my naked boy and as I came down the stairs and stepped onto the floor that's when I asked the question. Mike started laughing and said it probably was pee because he saw Wyatt standing over there and thought he heard the sound of water hitting the floor but didn't really think anything of it. My first time stepping in pee and I'm sure not my last! :)

New Shoes

Wyatt has been wearing sandals all Summer and we have been looking and looking and looking for tennis shoes for him to wear outside at daycare. We happened to look at Wal-Mart today and they had some that were his size, so we went ahead and bought them. When we got home I had Wyatt put them on so he could walk around in them and it was so funny!! He kept walking on the hardwood floors because his shoes would make noises on the floors better than the rug. He thought he was such big stuff tapping his shoes and running around. He was very mad he had to take them off to eat supper. I'm just glad that they fit him and he can walk in them. Mission accomplished! :)

M.I.A.

Well if you haven't guessed it, school is getting close to being back in session. This last week I've been working in my room and getting things ready to go for the upcoming school year. On Wednesday my friend, Amber, helped me make curtains for my room and they turned out fabulous!! (I'll post pics later!)
Wyatt is doing fabulously at daycare and loving every minute of it. In fact, on Thursday and Friday he didn't even cry when I dropped him. On Friday, he practically leapt out of my arms to get down and go play with with all of his friends. I'm so happy to see that he has completely adjusted to the new environment and loving it.
We don't really have any other plans for the Summer other than heading back to Chanute when Stacie has her baby and then camping and boating at Melvern over Labor Day. Hopefully school won't get too crazy and I can keep up my posts! :)
