Thankful on Thursday

Today I'm linking up with Jenna Rae for Thankful on Thursday! It's a super easy link-up. Just say 5 things you are thankful for this week. They can be serious, funny, or a mixture of both.

I feel like I'm truly blessed in every aspect of my life. I have a wonderful family, fantastic friends, and a job that while frustrating is very rewarding. It's going to be hard to narrow down just 5 things I'm thankful for but I'll try.

1. I have to say I'm incredibly thankful for my family. My husband and son have put up with my crazy running schedule since I started in January and have been my biggest supports.

2. I'm also really grateful for my colleagues at work. They have also been super supportive in my running quest. I received emails and text while running supporting me and giving me cheers along the way. When I got back to school after being gone for my race and a conference I was treated like a rock star. Everyone was congratulating me and wanting to see my medal. How could you not feel loved and appreciated when you have constant support both from home and work. :)

3. I'm also thankful for an understanding boss! I teach at an elementary school and it's standard that you wear clothes that are professional. I am usually dressed to the nines whenever I'm at work and try to maintain an appearance of professionalism. I once had a professor tell me in a college class that teachers don't like it when people don't take them seriously so stop wearing crappy clothes that people don't want to take you seriously in. She said to always dress like you work in a bank. And that's what I've been living by. Also the three B's must be covered: boobs, butt, and belly.

Today I am feeling particularly sore from my race weekend and just not recovering as fast as I thought I would. (I guess I shouldn't have ran those 3 miles on Tuesday!) I needed to wear tennis shoes today to help my knees and legs from being so sore. Well if you're wearing tennis shoes then you're probably wearing jeans. She totally understood and didn't give me any grief! Wahoo! See my #2!

4. I'm also thankful for Sonic cherry limeaids. They are so refreshing and a good way for me to stick with my no-pop since February. I try to drink at least 80 ounces of water a day and sometimes I feel like if I take another sip of it I will become a human spitting fountain. I try to give myself a cherry limeaid cheat every once in a while! Today being one of those days!

5. My final item is the lovely girl at Victoria's Secret on Monday who spent over 30 minutes with me trying to find me a bra that I liked and fit. After having a baby I could careless who sees my boobs because they aren't that great to look at and running hasn't helped the cause any. After doing as much side-stepping as we could I finally showed her my boobs and said to find something that will work. And she did! Thank you young college girl, who I will never see again!

That's it! That's what I'm thankful for this week. Head over to Jenna Rae's and link up what you are thankful for! :)
