Well weekday #1 of Wyatt and his big boy carseat and so far I'm not sure. It's not the carseat or anything like that, it's just that today it was so cold and it would have been so nice to not have to carry him out into the cold and then wait for me to buckle him in while the cold air is blowing in. Now I know you're saying, "Well duh, Sara, it's the winter. Think about it." or "You are going to eventually have to put him into his carseat into the winter at some point. He can't sit in an infant seat forever." I know all of these things but still feeling unsure.
Here's another point I have about the big boy seat, right now. We do a lot of driving. In fact, Wyatt spends at least an hour in the car everyday. Not because I'm driving him around and just cruising but because of driving to daycare and home. This evening we were driving home and he fell asleep, like he usually does, but his head was so flopped over I couldn't even see his face.
So in conclucsion, I'm thinking we are going back to the infant seat for just a little bit longer. We'll revisit it again when it gets a little warmer and his head won't be so slouchy.
Thanks for the sweet comment on my new blog. I miss you guys so much too! Good luck with the new car seat, it is really cute!
ReplyDeleteThe head flopped over is something I always hated as well. I always stopped and proped it up with a blanket. Good luck with the new seat.
ReplyDeleteI was going to try that but we'll give the infant seat a little longer and then bring the big boy carseat back.
ReplyDeleteSo what's the car seat status? Jack's is in, but it's been so cold and icky out that I want to leave him in his carrier for a couple more weeks b/c we have the cover on it and he won't get cold going from house to car, etc.
ReplyDeleteDarci,
ReplyDeleteWe are still using the infant carrier for the same reason. it's just too cold out and i don't want him getting sick. hopefully this cold weather will leave in a couple of weeks and we can go back to the big boy seat but we'll see. when you take jack to resterants or the store is he sitting in a high chair or the cart by himself? i've been tempted to try it but just haven't yet.
Jack does sit in the shopping cart and in high chairs at restaurants! He LOVES it - makes him feel like a big boy! But Jack was sitting early, remember?, so Wyatt might be different if he doesn't like to sit! Jack loves to sit, he will sit and play for hours! We have a shopping cart/high chair cover that we use so he doesn't get so germy! Try it - I'm sure Wyatt will like it! Jack was getting to the point where he would constantly try to lean his head forward so he could look around and that's pretty much when I started putting him in the cart! Give it a try!
