2009 Survey

This is a survey that I saw on a friend's blog and loved it so much that I had to steal it and fill it out! Hope you enjoy!!

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? "Gave birth and parented my new baby. Also taught 4th grade at a new school and made Standard of Excellence in Reading on State Assessments!"

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? "I don't make new year's resolutions."

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? "Oh my gosh it seems to be the birth year for people around me including myself. My friend Alicia gave birth to Claire in April, Me in May, Darci gave birth to Jack in May, my cousin Elliott gave birth to Marley in June, Mike's cousin Jessica gave birth to Hayleigh in August, Mike's little sister Kimberly gave birth to Adrian in October, a co-worker at TR Lisa gave birth to Jayden a day later in October, a friend and former Ogden co-worker Jen gave birth to Clark in November, my friend Kelsey gave birth to Kepple in December, and finally my friend Carol in NC gave birth to twins Kyler and Ashyr! That's a lot of babies this year!!"

4. Did anyone close to you die? "Unfortunately my grandma's boyfriend and long-time family friend Jim Orr died in June. He will be missed dearly."

5. What countries did you visit? "Unfortunately none."

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? "A more organized home."

7. What dates froom 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? "March 24 because Mike and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and of course, May 21, 2009 because Wyatt was born on that day!"

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? "Besides giving birth, it would be achieving a Standard of Excellence in Reading on the State Assessments! Go Becky and me!!"

9. What was your biggest failure? "Letting going back to work get the best of me and considering quitting my job."

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? "Besides allergies and the occassional cold nothing worth mentioning."

11. What was the best thing you bought? "I got a new phone that I needed badly and we bought a camcorder to record Wyatt in all of his adventures."

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? "Mike is father and husband of the year, hands down! He commutes 4 hours everyday to work and doesn't complain one second that he has to. He found a new job after being laid-off and made the best out of a bad situation with what CAT gave him, all to support his newly expanding family. I couldn't have asked for a better husband and supporter."

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? "Not really sure. I'm so busy with my life right now that I don't have time to worry about anyone elses."

14. Where did most of your money go? "Unfortunately my money mainly goes to buy things for Wyatt or to eat out. I love to eat out, what can I say!"

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? "Going back to work after being off all summer and having my amazing little man with us!"

16. What song will always remind you of 2009? "Oh my there are too many to name. Probably Jay-Z Empire State of Mind."

17. Compared to this time last year are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer? "I would say I'm the same as I was last year. 2008 wasn't a bad year either."

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? "Traveled more before Wyatt was born."

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? "Nothing that I can think of. Maybe stayed fitter during my pregnancy so it wasn't so hard to get this baby weight off."

20. How did you spend Christmas? "We were at home enjoying being snowed in with Wyatt on his first Christmas."

21. Did you fall in love in 2009? "I fell in love with my little man and more in love with Mike."

22. What was your favorite TV program? "Anything reality related. Pretty much the same as last year series-wise."

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? "Don't think so."

24. What was the best book you read? "Ohhh, this is a hard one. My friend Sammi got me hooked on a teen vampire series, not Twilight!! The House of Night series is really great!"

25. What was your greatest musical discovery? "Classic Vinyl on Sirius is my new favorite channel this year."

26. What did you want and get? "A new laptop!"

27. What did you want and not get? "I wanted another band to add to my wedding and engagement ring but with a baby and Mike being laid-off it wasn't the right time to buy an item that wasn't a necessity. Oh well."

28. What was your favorite film of this year? "Not really sure. Unfortunately haven't been able to watch many movies with the baby around."

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? "Mike and I had just found out the sex of the baby and we registered in Topeka, then met Travis, Christina, and Madison for dinner at On the Border. It was so delicious!!"

32. What kept you sane? "Mike, my mom for letting me call her all the time, Lindsay for letting me call her all the time about nothing, Sammi for coming over and listening to me cry all summer, and my co-workers at school have been a huge help and relief when it comes to work and home."

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? "Who ever was on the cover of people that week. Oh and Jon and Kate Gosselin."

34. What political issue stirred you the most? "Manhattan's smoking ban in all public areas. That really irked me even though I don't smoke and obviously couldn't last year it just annoys me that big brother is impeeding on people's civil liberties."

35. Who did you miss the most? "Not sure."

36. Who was the best new person you met? "Our school's new principal is awesome and doing a great job and has been very helpful to me and listening to me blab on about absolutely nothing but needing that souding board and voice of reason."

37. Tell a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009. "Having a baby is going to be hard on everything you do. Every part of your life will forever be changed but it's worth it and everytime I feel like I can't keep going I know I can for my family. Oh and I was a lot more selfish than I really thought I was before I had a baby. That was a big one!!"

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. "It's a love story, baby just say yes!"
