Well this year was our "first" real Halloween that was celebrated. His first year he was just a baby and I think it's ridiculous when people walk around with infants, who clearly can't eat candy, dressed up for the event. (Sorry I know I'll get some flack for it but I just don't like it.) Last year, Wyatt was sick and running a fever during Halloween and we didn't go. This year was much different!
We dressed Wyatt up in his costume
from last year and headed downtown for trick-or-treating. All the businesses stand outside their doors and give out candy, flyers, coupons, etc. to passerbys. Wyatt was very intrigued by all the people dressed up and spent a lot of time just staring at them. We often had to pick him up and carry him because we were holding up the giant line of people behind us. We made it about four block before Wyatt decided he was done and we headed home for the night. I can say it was a successful night except when we saw a life-sized Clifford and he freaked out and wouldn't look at him or go near him. But once we crossed the street was all smiles telling Mike and I over and over again how he say Clifford!
Wyatt even attended
Boo at the Zoo in Topeka with Poppa Joe, Grandma Audry, and Adrian. They had a blast and got my favorite Halloween treat of the holiday: two coupons to Chik-Fil-A. Score!!
Next year we will have to pick out a new costume and I can only imagine what he will tell me then.
