Independent Baby

Well here's sad/happy milestone for my baby and his momma. The past couple of weeks Wyatt hasn't been letting me rock him to sleep. I have always rocked him to sleep. As he has gotten older I will rock him for 15 minutes and then put him in his bed to sleep whether he was fully asleep or not. In fact, earlier this week he didn't even let me hold him and just wanted to lay in his crib and go to sleep on his own. Mike keeps reassuring me that this is a "great" thing but as a momma this is really hard not to be needed/wanted any more. Although I am really excited that he is becoming more independent it's still sad. I have found out the past couple of days that he will let me rock him as long as he isn't lying down. He has to be laying across my shoulder! Very unusual, not how he has ever fallen asleep before but I will take it. Anything to get to rock my baby to sleep for even just a couple of minutes.
