Future Picasso-I think not, unless he ate the crayons too!

Today we got our first taste of coloring; figuratively and literally!! Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Zach, and Layken gave Wyatt some crayons and these really cool coloring markers for toddlers for his birthday and since he was feeling better I decided to give them a try. I have a ton of newsprint paper that was found in my room a couple of months ago and didn't have a purpose for it at school so I brought some home for Wyatt to try out his art skills on. I taped down the the paper so it wouldn't move and demonstrated the crayons and how they work and then let him have discovery time to explore the crayons before actually using them. Because as any teacher knows if you give a kid a new manipulative you have to give them time to discover aka play with the it so they will be ready to work with it when you need them to. After Wyatt's discovery time we tried getting him to color on the paper and he just wouldn't have anything to do with it. He like trying to tear the paper off the table and then eating the crayons way more than actually producing anything with them. Hopefully I will have some art work to show on here before the end of summer!! Of course, here are some cute pics of him with the crayons! He actually bit the blue crayon and had blue all over his bottom teeth but I couldn't get a picture without him eating the crayon!

  1. Did you get some colorful poop? My mom said my brother ate some crayons and he had the most beautiful shades of poop that next day.
