Another One...

Well, remember my last post about Wyatt being sick again and we thought it was his teeth that were coming in. That was part of it but he definately has another ear infection. So we have gone almost a month between ear infections this time. I think a lot of that has to do with the Claritan that he has been taking every morning since his last ear infection ended.
The doctor said he would give us a referral for the ENT but said something to consider is that Wyatt is about 2 years old and Spring is coming around the corner. There tends to more ear problems in the Fall and Winter and the weather change could help his infections and the fact that he could be about ready to grow out of the ear infection stage are weighing heavily on my mind. If he continues to have ear problems in the Spring then we would know for sure that the problem is his ears.
This has to be the hardest part of being a parent. I don't want him to be in pain or stunt his learning with plugged up ears and being doped up on medicine all the time but I don't want to put him through a surgery. I know it's a small and out patient surgery but it's still a surgery. I haven't even had a surgery, let alone letting my small baby boy have one. Who knows?! Only time will tell at this point and once Mike gets home from his work trip and we are able to talk more about this situation we can come to some sort of consensus about what should happen.
