Wyatt has been cracking us up lately with his daily ramblings. We also found out that he remembers whole conversations that Mike and I have had and then likes to repeat them. That kid has a memory like a steel trap!
When we were driving to school the other day I asked him what is Momma's job? He replied to make breakfast. When I asked him what Daddy's job was, he replied to make supper.
While playing outside to other night we were painting with Wyatt's new set of watercolors and I was telling him how to use them and not to put the brush in his mouth. I went inside to get some more paper and when I returned Mike told me that he had been putting the brush in his mouth the whole time. We talked about it again and went on. Later on he was done painting and I said that I was going to paint a picture. Before leaving the table he made sure to give me detailed instructions on how to get the paints wet and then added a safety piece about how not to put the paintbrush in my mouth because the paint could make me sick! Go figure!!
We got Subway one night and I got him a M&M cookie. He was delighted and couldn't wait to eat it. Once he finished his supper his asked for his cookie. I broke him off a piece and he wouldn't eat it because there was chocolate on it. I told him that was the M&M and he still wouldn't budge. I told him that M&Ms are chocolate and to eat it. But nothing he wouldn't touch the chocolate at all.
When we were reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar the other night he kept calling the caterpillar's cocoon a raccoon instead. They have been reading this book at school and he wanted to read it some more last night. I read it twice and then made him read it to me and he did a great job. He wasn't reading the words but he does a great job of looking at the pictures and then making up his own story. He even likes to add his own information to the book while he's reading it.
Wyatt has also picked up a new habit of stuttering when ever he is really excited and trying to tell a story or talk about something that he really likes. Some days are worse than others and he can even go weeks without stuttering and then he stutters for a week straight and it's gone again. We will just keep an eye on it and hopefully it's something will disappear one day.
