Weekend in Chanute

This past weekend Wyatt and I made the trek to Chanute and had a couple of major firsts! This was the first time Wyatt would sleep overnight anywhere other than his own bed and we did the whole weekend without Daddy's help. The result was a success. We are both still quite tired but that's to be expected with all of the activities that we did while back visiting. We weren't just back for a visit we also had to throw Stacie her baby shower.
So our Saturday was a very busy day. First thing in the morning we went to my Grandma's house and had lunch with her and my dad! Wyatt had a blast with his Grandpa Flash and Great Gram.
My Grandma even came up with a new nickname for Wyatt; Mr. Personality Plus!! It's quite a mouthful. As you can see below he wasn't acting with the "Plus" at all times. She wanted a picture of her and Wyatt but the minute she picked him up he would wiggle the tiniest bit and she would put him down. I finally told her to just hold him because he wasn't the Hulk. I then had to remind her that she raised 3 boys and could just man-handle him to make him sit with her. This is the result!! :)
Then it was time for Wyatt's nap and Stacie's baby shower. It was at the Municple Building and there was a surprise waiting for me when I got there; no air conditioning in the room we were going to be using!! The room was 91-degrees and wasn't acceptable for anyone to be using, especially a pregnant woman and the elderly. Not to mention a friend who sweats profusely and had to bring a cardigan to wear to cover the sweat stains!! So we found another room to hold the shower and it went off without a hitch. It was great that Diana and Erin were able to come and see Stacie in all of her preggo glory! :)
Afterwards, us girls hung out for a couple of hours and Erin brought over Wyatt's birthday present for him. She got him a super cute cell phone that plays different sounds and you can record your voice for him to replay over and over and over and over...well you get the point. She also got him stacking cubes and he loves them!! He had to play with them Sunday morning before we left.

All in all it was a great weekend. A big thanks goes out to my Mom who kept Wyatt entertained and even let me sneak out of the house in the evening to visit with friends when Wyatt was asleep!! :)
