Today we had Wyatt's 18-month check up with Dr. Rose and it went well. The best news was that he is now weighing in at a whooping 21lbs. 11oz!!! He has moved from the 1% to the 4% in weight! That's a jump and we are happy. He gained almost 2.5lbs. from his last appointment. He is also 32in. tall and in the 44% for height. His head was in the 25%. Overall, he is proportionate for his body type and doing well. He also has 11 teeth.
While we were there he was being a complete ham and smiling. He did a great job for Dr. Rose and the nurse when they measured him, weighed him, and checked his reflexes. He did such a great job that he got 2 cookies from Dr. Rose!
I told Dr. Rose about a concern I had that sometimes Wyatt doesn't respond to me when I call his name. Generally this is when he is in the other room. I have to yell and yell and then go to him to get him to respond. I just never knew if he was just that engrossed in what he was doing or just already ignoring me! So we went ahead and did an OAE on him to test his hearing. After that Dr. Rose came back in and said that the results weren't normal. He wanted to refer us to an audiologist. So we are now waiting for the specialist to call us, so we can set up another appointment to test his hearing, again. Once we find out when the next appointment is there will be an update. The good news is that we won't have to go far because the audiologist is in Manhattan.
Dr. Rose did tell me that he thinks that Wyatt probably had Roseola when the rash broke out and that we should try Amoxycillan again some time. I was glad that he talked to me about the situation again but I did tell him about the fact that no one would call me back or listen to me. So hopefully we are over all of that.
I did break down and had Wyatt get the Flu Vaccine. This was a decision that I had been going back and forth on if we were going to get it or not. But this time he didn't have to get any vaccines, so I went ahead and had him get it. We also don't have another doctor's appointment until his 2-year birthday!!
hate to say it, but i told you so! i really thought it was roseolla! ha! but i would have done the same thing if jack broke out in a rash taking meds too! im just bragging here! :-)
ReplyDeletethat is what people at work said and after googling it i thought it was too. the thing is no one even mentioned this at the doctor's office when i called them. that's what really pissed me off. i made sure to vent my frustration to wyatt's doctor and how the lack of attention was very annoying and not welcomed.
