Mike and I met in high school in Mr. Babcock's Trigonometry class. He asked me to lunch and the rest is history. Mike went to Pittsburg State University to study Plastics Engineering in 2000 and I followed in 2001 for my Elementary Education degree. We moved in together and rented our first home in 2002 and it was a complete fixer-upper to say the least. That house brought us together and really sealed the deal that we were in this for the long haul. In May 2003 he proposed to me at my work and it was a total surprise! Of course I was dinking around and was late getting to work and so that really made him nervous. After he proposed we both had to go to class and then back to work. That's college for you. We got married in Las Vegas in March 2004. It was great fun to have our family and friends there with us on that special day. We had a great reception a month later in Chanute and was able to celebrate with everyone. Mike graduated in May 2004 and moved to North Carolina. I stayed in Pittsburg to finish my student teaching and then joined him December 2004 after my graduation. We lived there for two years and bought our first home, then a job change took us back to Kansas. We moved to Wamego and bought another home and enjoyed our couple-dom until we had our son in May 2009 making us a family of three. And that's the story of Us!
Happy 7th anniversary to my husband! I love you!
So when I first heard that you got married in Vegas, I thought it was just a "let's get married quick" kind of a thing. Thanks for sharing and Happy Anniversary! :) Miss you guys!
ReplyDeletethanks jen! miss you too. the whole vegas thing was really because we couldn't decide on when and where and we thought of that jokingly and then it stuck! plus we could do a honeymoon while there as well since we didn't have much time since it was spring break!
