Weekend Getaway

This weekend Mike and I had a mini-vaca for our 7th wedding anniversary in Kansas City. We began the weekend with Wyatt running a fever and just feeling yucky! :( So very discouraging but we pushed through and knew that he would be in good hands with his Poppa Joe and Grandma Audry. We got around on Saturday morning and dropped him off in Maple Hill and then headed to KC!
We got a room at Chatea Avalon, by Legends, which has fun theme rooms. We got the Serengeti room and it looked exactly like the pictures on the website. The fun safari-themed room was a great little getaway and far more fun than just a regular hotel room. All the rooms come with a 2-person jacuzzi tub and it was fantastic.

Mike was looking at the rhino head and apparently it had been ripped off the wall several times! You could see where they had reattached it and put anchor screws back into the wall. I didn't know people used it as a prop, I just thought it was decor.

2-person jacuzzi tub that was wonderful!!

Up to the bed

Mike watching the game before we headed to dinner.

We also went to Olathe and saw a Fork and Screen movie. This movie theater is awesome and the Fork and Screen portion is awesome. You get to sit in big leather chairs that recline while watching your movie. You also get to order from a full menu of food items that are brought to your chair while you watch the movie. The prices were very comparable to eating at an Applebee's and very good quality. We watched Limitless with Bradley Cooper and Rober DeNiro and it was great. I would highly recommend it if you like action movies.
We ate dinner that night at Yard House in the Legends area and then got ice cream from Cold Stone for dessert. We headed back to our room and watch The Social Network in our room before turning in for the night.
Sunday morning we slept in and then ate breakfast in bed from the hotel. After getting ready we went shopping the rest of the morning and ate lunch before heading back to Maple Hill to get our boy and head home.
All in all it was a great weekend and we had many firsts for us. It was a great time for Mike and I to reconnect and be a couple again. It was the best anniversary ever!! :)
