Favorite Running Gear Link-Up

Today I'm linking up with Mel over at 4Kottez Runs It. If you are wanting a good blog read be sure to stop by and show some blog love! ;) The topic is favorite running attire and since I'm such a newbie I'm super pumped to see what everyone else has in store for recommendations!

Here's my running attire! It's my favorite by default, since it's my ONLY running attire! See newbie thing again!

Since I run outside I must wear thermal underwear or for the fancy people a base layer. My husband got me this amazing set of thermal underwear from Cabelas and I'm in L-O-V-E! I originally wanted them for Fall football games, since we went to every single KSU home game, except one, this season! I also wanted a good pair of thermals for when we butcher hogs in February. Yes we butcher hogs and process our own meat. (That could be a whole other post in its self.) I digress, where was I?

Next up is my trusty C9-Champion pants and shirt from Target. The pants are super comfy and fit great. I would recommend getting the Long size if you are of taller stature. I'm 5'7.5", yes I have to put the half because it makes me feel taller! I am wearing larges right now and both are wicking to keep sweat off me because I sweat like a frat boy.

Finally, my most recent purchase is the C9-Champion running jacket. I was wearing my Columbia coat when running but on days that it was warmer than 40-degrees out this made for an extremely sweaty run. Don't get me wrong I love to sweat, in fact when I run I'm usually more dressed than everyone else I see running but it's because I feel like a high school wrestler trying to cut weight and it makes me feel good! Oh and another great thing about this jacket is the chest pocket for my phone. This is a must have for pretty much any other outer shell I get in the future. I also love the thumb holes in the sleeves so my arms are nice and toasty.

The oldest piece of running attire I have are my shoes. These are some Nikes I got almost 4 years ago and so far they are the best shoes I have for running. I tried another pair of tennis shoes I have and they just didn't make the cut. Once I have completed C25K I plan on investing in a pair of actual running shoes!

The complete look. I still haven't found a stocking cap that I like so I'm still wearing my husbands OU one. I guess it's better than blaze orange since that would be the other alternative.

  3. You must have really narrow feet b/c I loathe all Nike shoes! Hate them, tried to love, but I can't! They hurt the shit out of my Flinstone flat, archless, feet!
