So I started off the day drinking water out the wazoo! I felt like I drank water any chance I got. My Dr. Pepper I drink at lunch time was even ignored most of the afternoon for the water. I also googled calf muscle stretches and did those every couple of hours because my calves were killing me and knew they would be a hindrance to my run today. So my day entailed drinking water, stretching on the floor with my kids looking at me, and working.
I started on my run and everything was going okay until after the first 3-minutes of running and then walking. When I started to walk the fire was being set ablaze and continued from that point forward the rest of the time. At one point it was easier to run than walk because they were hurting so badly. I felt like I could have ran more but with the pain it was just crappy running that I was doing. I felt like my stride was getting off and my time per mile was going down, big time.
So tonight I will be stretching, drinking water, and sitting in a hot bath. I think I might even break out the Icy-Hot. Tomorrow will be a day off from running so that may help with the calf issue. We shall see!
